The Shiawassee Humane Society is a non-profit animal shelter funded through membership dues, donations, and bequests whose mission is to advocate the humane treatment of companion animals. Receiving no tax dollars, the Society is not affiliated with animal rights groups and takes no stand on issues such as hunting or furs. Our shelter houses 650 to 700 animals annually. Shelter hours are Monday thru Wednesday - 11:00 am to 5:00 pm, Thursday - 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Friday and Saturday - 11:00 am to 4:00 pm.
